Asset Performance Grading is an analytical tool that evaluates assets based on the deviation percentage from the observed tolerance. It grades each asset and recommends adjusting recall intervals based on the past three service records.

The default grading tolerance percentages can be modified in the Administration section if desired:

Performance grade is displayed next to the results in the asset service record:

By viewing the service record (via clicking on the service date in the “Record” column), customers can also access the performance grading and tolerances for that service event.

As long as a service record is linked to a work order, the “As Found/Left Tolerance” and “Performance Grading” scores are automatically populated from the worst tolerance percentage in the As Found and As Left measurements. If a service record is created manually, these values may be entered by hand.

Note: Performance grading is based on the As Found tolerance percentage only.

Recall Advice

The Advised Maintenance Period is calculated by adjusting the current calibration interval based on a weighted impact of your asset's performance grades across the last three services based on the following weighted system:

Advised Period = Current Period * (0.8*X + 0.2*Y + 0.1*Z)

The current period is the calibration interval between the most recent and the previous service records.

We assign greater significance to the latest calibration data, reflecting its importance in predicting near-term performance, so the weighing coefficients are:

  • 0.8 for the current (most recent) calibration (X)
  • 0.2 For the previous calibration (Y)
  • 0.1 for the calibration before the previous one (Z)

X, Y, and Z are based on the performance grading of that service event where each grade corresponds to:

  • A = 1
  • B = 0.8
  • C = 0.6
  • D = 0.4
  • E = 0.3

NoteRecall advice will only be available when at least three service records are available for the selected maintenance plan.

The advised recall period is displayed in the asset service record:

The 'Recall Period' indicates the time since the last service (days), and the 'Recall Advice' offers a suggested number of days for the next service.

You can see alerts about the recall advice for multiple assets in the Service Record Manager:

Interval Advice section in the left pane offers the following asset filters/alerts:

  • Need Service Sooner: This view filters and displays assets recommended to have their maintenance or service dates moved earlier based on the asset’s poor performance in the most recent calibrations.
  • Can Service Later: Opposite to the above, this view shows assets where good performance indicates that the recall period can be safely extended without expected detriment to the asset's performance.
  • Recurrent Failure: This view targets identifying assets with a pattern of failures, specifically those with three or more instances of being 'Out of Tolerance' (OOT) consecutively. This signals a need for a closer examination of the asset for potential underlying issues causing frequent failures.
